Review: Wella Straightening Cream

Rebonding or Japanese Straightening is

  1. Expensive

2. Time Consuming

  1. So worth it!

Since you can’t do anything about the second point, I decided to save me some money and do it at home. I bought Wellastrate Intense Straightening Cream Kit from Sarojini Nagar (a shop named Kalpana) and on a free Saturday, set up for the long process.

What You Need:

Wellastrate Straightening Intense Kit

Shampoo and Conditioner (I used TRESemmé Climate Control)

Gloves, Comb and Lots of Hair Clips

The procedure for Wellastrate Straightening Intense Kit:

  1. Shampoo. Don’t Condition.
  2. Apply the straightening cream. Wear gloves for and work it in as you apply it in tiny sections of your hair. Do not put it on the roots.
  3. Comb your hair straight and let the cream do its course for 40 minutes.
  4. Rinse it out with warm water. Warm is key word here.
  5. Blow Dry or Air Dry your hair.
  6. Straighten your hair in tiny sections with a hot iron. The better you straighten, the better the results. So take your time here.
  7. Apply the Neutralizer and comb your hair straight. Let it remain for another 30 minutes.
  8. Wash, Blow Dry and Flaunt!

Going shopping at Sarojini Nagar?

Heading to shop at Sarojini Nagar? Summer is almost here. Scorching heat invites sexy buys.

1. Tank Tops

You will find many peddlers selling misspelt spaghetti tops and tank tops for as low as 60 rupees and a Max of 150. Look for the ones that have adjustable straps. They last longer and are actually longer than ordinary ones.

2. Maxi Dress

Sarojini has tons of maxi dresses. Strapless, plain black, boho, even vero moda export rejects for 200 rupees! I kid you not. Try the tiny square near a big banyan tree in the Big C lane. Or just ask the shop keeper. They know all in terms – maxi and crop tops, rompers…

3. Linen Pants

H&M pure linen pants for 400 rupees. So comfy, they are a summer staple. With an elastic back and trouser pleats in front, ultimate chic. Where?
Take the narrow lane from Khatta Meetha to enter the export market. Turn left. Third shop on your left. It has a ton of skirts on display and can be easily missed. Look carefully and follow these directions.

What not to buy at Sarojini Nagar Market?

1. Those denim shorts that are on display everywhere. They are made from discarded jeans. Have even spotted one with period stains. So skip it. Buy new linen ones from any shop for 250 rupees.

2. If you think it’s worn, it probably is. Don’t get me wrong. Export market is pretty fabulous but recently, I have noticed a bunch of vendors selling used tops and jeans. Stay safe by buying from a shop and not those 3-for-100 vendors.

Tip:
Always check everything against the light for holes and errors. They are export rejects after all.

Go on a Thursday. That’s when the shops get fresh stuff.
So I am told.

Happy Shopping!

Love.
